Andra is all packed and ready for her trip to Belgium this week. She's really excited to be travelling with her good friend, Nic Dinnie, of "Alex&Her" and "Desmond and the Tutus".

The next exciting new project ANDRA is working on is a collaboration with Pretoria's only contemporary dance company, KMAD, for the debut production:
"Lady Rocks the Blues".
This production will run from Thursday, 3rd of June to Sunday the 6th of June at The State Theatre Arena in Pretoria. Come and experience the powerful, gut-wrenching live music of Andra's compositions (including some other surprises) and KMAD's raw physicality in these FOUR SHOWS ONLY!!!

PERSONAL WORDS FROM ANDRA TO HER FANS
Usually within the first week of a new year I find myself sitting on a sand dune in the Namib desert waiting for the sun to set over the sea.
I never saw the sunset this year…. the silence of the desert suddenly exploded around me – it was something I had never experienced before on such a scale. It was a 360 degree silence – it came from the sand that I was sitting on, from the sky, from all around me: a huge, vast SILENCE!
And in this silence you suddenly realize, this is what it’s all about. Real Silence has nothing to do with the absence of sound, it is a cleansing and rejuvenating condition - something that you can only experience in the NOW. It has no past and no future.
I decided then – the best wish I can offer anybody for this year is that they will make an effort to experience the silence from time to time. Whether it be in the desert, the bush, or a park: just go and find it somewhere.
Good things will happen this year – people will get married, have new babies, buy houses, travel……
Other things will also happen – earthquakes, old friends die, jobs will be lost…..
But The Silence will always be there as a comfort or celebration.
There will definitely be a lot of music this year – but we must remember that a wise person once said:
it is the silence between the notes that creates the music!

SOUTHERN AFRICA TOUR DATES CONFIRMED
Namibian and Botswana tour dates have been confirmed for Nov/Dec 2009. See the Calender page for more details. Stops will include Windhoek, Swakopmund and the Mokolodi Nature Reserve outside Gaborone. We will end the year at Potters Place in Jeffreys Bay (one of our favourite venues) on 16 December whilst 2010 will kick off at the Up the Creek Music Festival near Swellendam in February.

ANDRA TO PERFORM AT OUDE LIBERTAS THEATRE
NEWS JUST IN… ANDRA will be performing at the Oude Libertas Theatre this coming Sunday (6 Dec). The event, dubbed as “Splendour in the Vineyard will also feature Luna Paige, Sima and Marlise Scheepers. This will be ANDRA’s first performance in the Western Cape since April and promises to be an evening not to be missed. The new album “ever had that feeling”, will also be available at the venue. Bookings are essential and tickets are available at Computicket or at the theatre. The show starts at 18h30.

ANDRA will be launching her much awaited second album, “ever had that feeling” tomorrow night at the Barnyard Theatre in Menlyn Pretoria. Artists to the likes of Nibs van der Spuy, the Lonesome Dave Ferguson, Ludwig Bouwer of The Lemmings, Nic Dinnie from Desmon and the Tutus and Brenda Burnit will join her on stage.

Andra will be performing at the Innibos “Ingeprop” Festival on 24 September 2010.
So, we hope to see you at the MK KLIPHARD stage! Other bands performing at the same stage on the 24th are: Dixie Hillbilly Trio, Jan Blohm, New Holland en Foto na Dans. We will post more info about the show soon in the Calender.
The festival runs between 23 and 26 September 2010 and promises to be “jampacked” with wonderful music and art and mindblowing performances. We hope to see you there!
